Programs to Grow Your Patient Base

Aetna Dental Access® and Aetna Dental® Administrators

Aetna Dental Access®

The Vital Savings by Aetna® program and other discount programs supported by the Aetna Dental Access network are growing. Your participating Aetna Dental Access office may be seeing new patients enrolled in these discount programs soon.

These programs are not insurance, so administration is easy. Enrolled patients show their ID card with the Aetna Dental Access name when they visit your participating office.

Enrolled patients are responsible for payment to you at the time of treatment. There are no forms to fill out, no claims to file and no waiting periods. To check eligibility, call the number on the patient’s ID card. Some cards may have an alphanumeric ID. Please only use the numbers when checking eligibility via our Aetna Voice Advantage telephone self-service system.

Please note: Compensation for the Aetna Dental Access network is the same as the maximum amount on your PPO fee schedule. Therefore, anytime you see the “Aetna Dental Access” name on an ID card, you should bill the patient the same amount as the maximum fee on the PPO fee schedule for services rendered.

Quick tips

  • Program names will vary.
  • Look for the Aetna Dental Access logo on a card and/or certificate.
  • Charge participants the same rate as your negotiated PPO rate.
  • Programs supported by this network are not insurance.
  • Your office will not have any claims to submit.
  • Call the phone number on the patient's card with any questions.

Many companies offer, administer or market programs under the Aetna Dental Access logo.

Aetna Dental® Administrators

Aetna Dental Administrators also has the potential to build the patient base of your participating PPO dental office. Aetna Dental Administrators will enable us to extend our services to, and form relationships with, a variety of select third-party administrators and other payers. In turn, these relationships could bring more patients to your office.

The services provided by Aetna Dental vary with these relationships and the ID card may look different for each enrolled patient; however, all ID cards will display the “Aetna Dental Administrators” name for easy identification.

All dental treatment provided to patients through the Aetna Dental Administrators program will be compensated in accordance with your contracted Aetna PPO fee schedule. In general, Aetna Dental Administrators works like a standard PPO plan; however, claims should be sent to the address on the patient’s ID card. Similarly, to verify eligibility, please call the number listed on the patient’s ID card.

The administrators and payers included in this program have agreed to meet Aetna’s claims payment and other important standards, and we hope that you are as excited about this opportunity as we are. However, should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our Dentist Contracting Hotline: 1-800-776-0537.

Quick tips

  • These relationships may vary.
  • Look for the Aetna Dental Administrators logo; it will appear on all ID cards.
  • Plan members have access to dental care from participating dentists in accordance with the contracted PPO fee schedule.
  • Aetna handles claims pricing, provides network services and management and works to resolve network contract issues.
